1/2 cup butter, softened1 cup packed dark brown sugar1 large egg1 tablespoon water1 teaspoon vanilla extract1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon baking sodaSugar
Preparation
Preheat oven to 325°. In a small bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, water and vanilla. Combine flour and baking soda; add to creamed mixture and mix well.
Shape into 1-in. balls. Place on greased baking sheets; flatten with a fork that has been dipped in water. Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake 15-20 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Cool on wire racks.
