Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened3/4 cup sugar3/4 cup packed brown sugar2 large eggs, room temperature1/4 teaspoon almond extract2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon salt1 package (10 to 12 ounces) vanilla or white chips1 jar (10 ounces) maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
Preparation
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in extract. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chips and cherries.
Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
