Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, cubed1 cup water1/4 cup baking cocoa2 cups all-purpose flour2 cups sugar1 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon salt2 large eggs, beaten1/2 cup buttermilk1 teaspoon vanilla extractFROSTING:3-3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar1/3 cup whole milk1/4 cup butter, melted1 teaspoon vanilla extract1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preparation
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter with water and cocoa. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. beat in the chocolate mixture; stir in the remaining ingredients.
Pour into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Place on a wire rack.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the first four frosting ingredients. Stir in nuts. Pour over warm cake; spread to cover cake.
