Ingredients
1 pound ground beef2 tablespoons chopped onion1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce1 teaspoon white vinegar1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce2 to 3 drops hot pepper sauce1 teaspoon sugar1 teaspoon chili powder1/2 teaspoon garlic salt1/4 teaspoon celery salt1/4 teaspoon onion salt1/8 teaspoon ground allspice1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamonDash pepper1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese8 taco shellsShredded lettuceChopped tomatoesSWEET-AND-SOUR DRESSING:1 cup Miracle Whip1/3 cup sugar2 tablespoons white vinegar1/4 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauceOptional: sliced jalapeno pepper and red onion
Preparation
In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat, breaking beef into crumbles, until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the next 12 ingredients to meat mixture. Simmer, uncovered, until liquid is almost completely reduced, stirring occasionally, 10-15 minutes. Cool slightly; stir in cheese.
Preheat oven to 400°. Place taco shells open end up in a baking pan; place a scoop of meat mixture into each shell. Bake until meat is hot and cheese is melted, 10-15 minutes.
Sprinkle lettuce and tomatoes over tacos. In a small bowl, combine dressing ingredients; drizzle over tacos. If desired, top with jalapeno and red onion.
