Ingredients

1/2 cup canola oil1/3 cup sugar1/4 cup cider vinegar1 garlic clove, minced1/4 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon paprikaPinch white pepper8 cups torn romaine4 cups torn Bibb or Boston lettuce2-1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted

Preparation

For dressing, place first seven ingredients in a jar with a tight-fitting lid; shake until sugar is dissolved.

In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Just before serving, shake dressing again and toss with salad.
